MS EMPIRE VIDEOS - INSTALLING THE XVID CODEC

The video files on this website are in AVI format and compressed with the XviD codec to reduce the file size whilst maintaining a high image quality. In order to play them back you will need to install the appropriate video codecs; Windows 2000 and XP users please follow the instructions below to do that.

Step 1 Close all Windows programs except Internet Explorer before starting this process.

Step 2 Visit this site and locate the download labeled XviD codec v1.1.2 for Windows (by Koepi) which appears near the bottom of the page as it first appears with a small Windows icon to it's left.

Step 3 Click that link and, when Internet Explorer prompts you, tell it to open the file. The installer will now download and start.

Step 4 Follow the XviD installer through; you will need to agree to the terms of the licence agreement before it will install, but after that simply use the default options supplied by clicking "next" on each page.

Step 5 When the installer finishes, close Internet Explorer and restart your computer. The XviD codec will now be ready to use.
